For the first edition of M'asaSupu Night, we received over 40 submission of social impact ideas and projects in Mombasa. The committee reviewed all submissions and were deeply inspired by the creativity and diversity of approaches to addressing big social challenges in Mombasa.
The committee were only able to select five projects who will pitch at the upcoming M'asaSupu Night on 25 March 2020. Read about them below, and come hear them livee on the 25th!
Boda Boda Ride
About the project >
The project aims to create employment pathways for young women in Likoni by providing technical skills, support and certification to engage as boda boda riders in the local community.
Mudzini Healthy Bakes
About the project >
Mudzini healthy Bakes is a home-based baking enterprise that makes gluten free cakes, pastries using flour made from indigenous food: cassava, sweet potato, wimbi, oat and amaratha (mchicha) flour.
Coastal Farming
About the project >
This project is aimed at reducing the dependence of basic farm produce such as onions, tomatoes and garlic, from outside of the coastal region; and creating employment by increasing the accessibility of information and support of eco-farmers in Mombasa.
